I'm Nellie! It's an honor to have you here and to show you around the place. I'm a writer and technologist, though you probably won't hear me talking about the latter in depth. This is a place for stories, those that I write, those that I read, and those that pop up like daises across the field of my life.

Snapper Scripts is the place for the fantastic, the lyrical, the whimsical and more, I am a sci-fi writer pursuing the path of traditional publishing. I've been writing for 10+ years and it's time I did so, and we can walk through those paths together, if you'd like.

About me?

I blogged prior to my college years and dropped off in 2020 for reasons we're all well aware of. I'm back now. My love for reading and writing has only grown and I have unearthed a solid appreciation for literary sci-fi (think The Midnight Library by Matt Haig or Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr). I've recently picked up piano and houseplants as hobbies tertiary to my love for stories and guitar. I graduated with a degree in Computer Science which only reinforced my adoration of science fiction and maybe helped me sort through the HTML when designing this blog.

What can you expect from Snapper Scripts?

    > In-depth book reviews! I write shorter book reviews on Fable and Goodreads (let's be friends there!), but I'll be diving deeper into plot, theme, characters, and writing style over here!

    > Writing talks! They'll be stories about my own writing process. There's plenty of knowledge in the library of the web (even your local GenAI would be happy to tell you the major plot points of the Hero's Journey). These are problems, roadblocks, joys, and curiosities that I've encountered while writing that the friendly neighborhood GenAI can't wrap its neural network around.

    > And more! I'm going to be focusing on stories around here, but if there's a genre of post you'd like to see more of, let me know in the comments or on the socials I've linked to. There's nothing like an idea to get me amped about writing! You can also expect dosages of humor and many, many gifs.
